Hello! My name is Spock. That, of course, is not my full name, which is unpronounceable to humans. I am a Starfleet officer - this is the badge I wear to prove it. The blue of my uniform shows that I am a Science Officer. I am very clever.
This is a standard issue phaser. I normally have it set to stun, but today, my away mission is to a remote planet at the edge of the Alpha quadrant, near to unclaimed space. The inhabitants are hostile and I need to be fully prepared. So I will be setting it to maximum.
This is how I aim my phaser. At such a high setting anything I hit will be instantly vaporised, so I must concentrate. See how I am concentrating?*POW*
